The absolute best way to lose weight is to have a strong desire and commitment to eating foods that are good for you and making yourself exercise on a daily basis. You do not have to go overboard, but be committed enough to say no to fried foods and foods that are loaded with sugar. Also, being active will help you to burn more calories and will keep you distracted from wanting to eat junk foods.
Here are a few tips to remember:
- You can lose weight quickly by cutting out sugary foods and drinks and replacing them with protein, fiber, and good fats like nuts. So instead of snacking on chips, cookies, and pop; snack on nuts, quaker mini puff rice cakes, and water.
- Drink a lot of water. Sometimes you think you are hungry, but your body is really craving water. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.
- Walk, walk, walk. Walking is a great way to lose weight fast without putting a lot of extra pressure on your body.
- Eat breakfast. Do not skip any meals, but especially not breakfast. Eating in the morning jump starts your metabolism and gives your body the fuel it needs to maintain and lose weight. It is not recommended to skip meals because your body, it feels threatened, will naturally go into survival mode and will hang on to the fat reserves.
- Don’t snack while watching TV. For some reason, this causes most people to eat more than they should probably because our minds tune out while watching TV.
- Keep a mental note of how many calories you are consuming on a daily basis. Most people consume more than they think and this is the cause for weight gain. If you consume more calories than you wanted to in a day, just walk or workout for 5-10 minutes longer.
The most important point to remember is that losing weight starts in the mind. If you are committed enough – you will lose weight fast and keep it off.
